Distance learning

The Garden Design Academy offers a number of courses ideal for home study at your own pace. Courses come with a CD or written notes and students are guided through their education by Colin Elliott, Course Director and an experienced international garden designer and horticulturist.

In 2008 we linked to ACS Distance Education to increase the range of courses we could offer to our clients.Their portfolio covers many subjects but we were careful to select only those in which we felt we were sufficiently expert to offer unrivaled levels of support and encouragement to students.

We currently serve the professional landscape industry by providing a Certificate in Garden Design as training for those serious about making a living from this sector.

Our CAD for Garden Designers module is based on the residential course we hold in Chabris several times a year and provides an introduction to this complex subject to get designers started along the road to CAD fluency. Unique to the Garden Design Academy, this module is included in the price of the Certificate in Garden Design.

For those seeking for wide-ranging horticultural knowledge you need look no further than our RHS Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture. The advanced student can continue to progress with RHS Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Horticulture and onwards to RHS Level 3 Diploma in Horticulture.

These qualifications are widely recognised and are an ideal foundation for those starting out in the industry or to consolidate practical experience.

The RHS has recently agreed a new range of qualifications in the Principles of Horticulture at Certificate levels 1, 2 and 3 to be phased in from September 2010. We have developed a number of exciting courses to support this well-respected training.

We are continually adding high-quality courses to our range; please see the panel to the right for the complete list and click on any that are of interest for more details.
