geraniums & pelargoniums
One of a series of 100 hour "short" courses from the Garden Design Academy suitable for garden enthusiasts and all those dealing with plants on a professional level.
Geraniums and Pelargoniums are great collector’s plants with many varieties available. They are a good source of vivid colour, even in winter if a warm situation is provided.
Plants sold at garden centers that are labeled "Ivy Geranium", "Scented Geranium" and "Zonal Geranium" are actually three different species of pelargonium.
These wonderful plants have been seen in our gardens and window boxes for hundreds of years and are a big part of many garden lovers lives.
Learn ways to maintain them to optimum performance. Learn how to avoid problems that can be easily cured. Learn how to take your own cuttings, grow them successfully and discover how many different types there are to choose from.
In this course you will also learn the basics of all good horticulture with plant health, understanding soils, plant nutrition, cultural requirements and pest and disease treatment.
