The Advanced Diploma in Horticulture (Landscaping) is a broadbased qualification which allows you to work across several professional industry sectors. On successful completion, this course opens up your career to management positions in landscaping, general horticulture and garden design, as well as teaching.

By signing up to the Garden Design Academy's Advanced Diploma you are enrolling in one of the most comprehensive landscape horticulture courses available. You will understand plant science, plant identification, plant care, irrigation, soils and nutrition, horticultural management and all aspects of landscaping and landscape design. You are able to choose electives in fields of interest that will help you to realise your ambitions within the industry.

Up to 200 hours of additional studies including First Aid and management studies.

Workplace oriented research

Two Research Projects modules must be undertaken to satisfy the 200 hour nominal duration.

Industry meetings

The student must provide evidence of participation in 100 hours of relevant industry meetings, seminars, workshops, or work experience. Any fees incurred are the responsibility of the student.

Workshops

Two PBL based workshop modules build your practical knowledge and ability to apply what you learn in the real world.

Enrolment fees do not include exam and workshop fees.

Each lesson of each module (there are more than 200 lessons) culminates in an assignment which is submitted to the Academy, marked by the Academy's tutors and returned to you with any relevant suggestions, comments and if necessary, extra reading.

Working with Colin Elliott, an experienced professional horticulturist, business manager, landscaper and garden designer, this course is about as comprehensive as it gets.
